Kassie's StoryIn 2006, stud owner, Gerald Hargest was seeking to add a second mare to the stud for showing and breeding. In making his next purchase, he was once again seeking to mine the rich seam of Welsh Cob breeding that runs through the heart of Ceridigion. In particular Gerald was seeking a horse from the bloodline of Menai Sparkling Image, who was owned by the Menai Stud of Llandysul, Ceridigion. On this occasion, it was Cheryl Atherton, a highly regarded member of horse and pony circles in Derbyshire and the North of England, who pointed Gerald in the direction of the Taiforgan stud owned by Mr & Mrs G Jones. Megan and Guto Jones are well known to be two of the most pleasant and helpful people on the horse breeding scene and ,when Gerald made the pilgrimage to their home in Pwllheli, North Wales, he knew that the journey would be worthwhile. The main purpose of that expedition, was to see a beautiful three year old filly by Menai Sparkling Image out of Taiforgan Catrin. The name of this filly was, of course, Taiforgan Kassie. Gerald instantly took to this beautiful mare and, as a result of this visit Kassie came to live with us at the Brynoer stud. Details
