Siwan's StoryIf you've already read about our stallion Geler Ryan, you'll know how the Brynoer stud began. Once the first chapter of the Brynoer story had been written, it was necessary to continue the success story so, with this aim, our founder, Gerald Hargest turned his attention to seeking out the ideal partner for Ryan. Since Ryan comes from such highly regarded bloodstock, it was no mean feat for Gerald to find a suitable partner from a source of similar quality. Once again, a conversation with Mr William Lloyd of the Geler Stud set Gerald on the trail in search of his next purchase. Mr Lloyd mentioned that his own Geler Dago had recently covered Merioneth Star Fly who was owned by the Ochrbryn stud. This mare had already made a name for herself as a winner of several shows, including the Royal Welsh Show. Gerald contacted Mr Ken Griffiths from the Ochrbryn stud and was able to negotiate the purchase of the filly by Geler Dago out of Merioneth Star Fly. This is how our first brood mare, Ochrbryn Siwan came to join the Brynoer stud in 2003. Sadly, Mr Ken Griffiths, founder of the Ochrbryn stud is no longer with us, but the quality of the Welsh Cobs, such as Siwan, which bear the Ochrbryn name will be remembered for as long as these bloodlines persist. In 2006, Siwan was covered by Ryan's half brother Geler Sparc. Brynoer Arwel was the product of that union. Description
